NEGGING

Take for instance “negging”. A technique recommended by many seduction coaches. With their own words:
“Neg hits, or more commonly negs (short for “negative hits”), are quick, sometimes humorous remarks used by PUAs to get past the bitch shield of hot women. Many men, when approaching an HB, make the mistake of immediately lavishing them with compliments. This rarely ever works because it is a) not genuine, b) places the girl on a pedestal, and c) is what every other guy does. By negging a target, a PUA avoids falling into this trap. An example of a commonly used neg in the seduction community is: “Nice nails, are they real?”
Are you for real? It’s like saying to a man: “Nice shirt, they didn’t have men’s sizes?”
Do you see the flawed reasoning of these guys? They take a correct statement: lavishing women with compliments is not a good idea. Btw, it is not like they have discovered America, it’s common sense, would you like to hear lots of insincere compliments?
Then they assume doing something different will work miracles! The thing is they still didn’t prove that the outcome of your efforts depends primarily on action, on social dynamics. Negging is of course just an example of many techniques that are a product of this twisted view of relationships. So these guys came up with lots of other weird stuff like: canned openers, cold reads, false time constraints, groundings, turn arounds…
Their imagination is limitless, but my critique will be always the same:
Why are you so sure that sexual attraction depends on social skills and status??
And if you answer: It probably matters cause we are social animals. My reply is: great, even assuming for a moment that it does matter, how do you know what is the impact of your social status, action or attitude on your success with the babes? Plus as always I need EVIDENCE, not only some pseudopsychology talk on social dynamics combined with pop-evolution theories.
Is it responsible for like 80% of the success? or maybe only 8%?
Most importantly, how did you measure it? Most of these guys will respond with a cute expression like “we field-tested it.” Translation? „Me and my homies tried this technique, and next day we tried that…”
You need to eliminate all other elements of the system to:
a) prove that something really did matter,
b) measure what difference did it make.
Seduction gurus say you should “neg” a woman to show superior status, to make her respect you, and become attracted to you. Negging is just a fancy word for busting balls. Isn’t that just annoying? Imagine a woman you are not attracted to at all acting cocky around you. Would that suddenly make her appear sexy in your eyes?
PUAs will reply that women see it differently. How the hell do they know that? Only because women don’t pay that much attention to beauty as men do? “Beauty” and “looks” are not the same thing. And yes, women have their types and they come down to facial appearance, which is not the same thing as physical attractiveness. So if you are not her type, and you will try this negging game with her… Well, it’s gonna be like an ugly chick busting your balls in an effort to “seduce” you. Would you be all over her in a few minutes after that? In the best case for her, if she was really funny, you would probably only enjoy her companionship, be friends. Anyways, it wouldn’t make you feel attracted to her SEXUALLY.
Did you know that there are seduction schools that teach women? Picture this, Large Marge seductively winks at you, and then surprise… she turns her massive body around, ignoring you! The “blink-ignore” pattern! You cannot help it, you feel attracted by this unexpected behavior, even perfect sultry models suddenly lost their allure compared to Large Marge.
Imagine you would have to explain those poor ladies that no sophisticated tricks are going to make you feel attracted to a fat ugly chick.
Their response would be almost the same talk as we hear from the PUAs. You would hear stories about average or even ugly women who ensnared the man of their dreams. There will be some exaggeration in it, but some of these stories are probably true. Yes, there are unattractive women who are together with fantastic men. If you are interested in seduction, you are probably after sexy babes only, but there are great men who genuinely fell in love with average looking women (although in general beauty is more important for men than for women).
The thing that those „alpha females” just don’t get is that it has nothing to do with skills! Just like the fact that the some average Joe used some seduction techniques on a hottie he scored later, doesn’t prove seduction works. Unless… a fair experiment proves it. I am talking about results that cannot be interpreted differently. An experiment that would rule out other possibilities.
Negging in their theory should help you build status. I agree that status does matter for women. But have all these PUAs ever asked themselves the question why she chose this guy of high status, and not some other guy who is even higher on the “status ladder”? Do you really think that when you have high status you can have any woman you want? Have a sincere conversation with any man of high status, and you will hear that the truth about meeting women is not that optimistic. Those guys have only bigger chances to meet potential matches, but it’s not like you can wave the keys to your Ferrari, and women will be all over you, for sure not the hottest ones (we are not discussing hookers here). For the same reason it’s not like you show mega-confidence combined with great sense of humor, and all women are instantly thinking of getting into your pants.
